This is a large, stunning painting of an Indian Maiden sitting on a rock along the riverbank, playing her flute. The river runs thru the rocks with green foliage surrounding her, with a cascade of mountains in the background. the artist, Roy Kerswill (1925-2002) was born in Devon, England. He came to the US via Canada when he sailed a cedar canoe in river waters from Canada to New Orleans, on a year long trip. This made him aware of Pioneer experiences and heritage, which was the subject of most of his paintings. It is signed in pencil by the artist and is valued at $351.00.
